It has a crisp trigger, a fluted barrel, and a cut for optics, but it also costs $2,499.I already knew that liked the way the 2011 shot, so I chose the Staccato. A $2500 gun is the least of my worries if I have to use it in self defense. They're not that expensive for a 2011, I don't have one but I'd say they're probably worth it- especially if you qualify for the mil/le 15% off + 6 mags deal.Not worth it in my opinion anymore, the staccato really needs a grip revamp imo to get close to its value, you get grip work done on an optic ready model and it brings the total to 2600-2700 dollars. It's absolute ass of a grip in 2023, when a $500 gun like Walther is doing a better job, you really have no excuse calling yourself a premium product.

Yes, with the caveat being is there a point of diminishing return where you aren’t gaining anything by having a Staccato over another duty pistol. $2800 would buy you a ton of supplemental training and ammo for your current pistol that would make you an overall better tactician, shooter, and asset.

In a true side by side comparison, I went with S.A. Plus, even though I was prepared to spend the extra money on the Staccato, the difference was nearly close to 1k at the store. They have been extremely reliable, but the 4.45 inch gun shoots a tad softer and flatter. The XC is a cool pistol, but really doesn't fit any sport and is too big to be a realistic carry gun.But the real point is that's the price point of any solid 1911 or 2011. We've gotten used to glocks, sigs, S&W, etc and they're all typically $700 or less. But if you want a halfway decent 1911 you're spending 1500 at minimum. When you think about it that way the staccato non-comp line is really fairly priced imo.

Also it's not the best for carry either, but it's an amazing gun and shoots amazing. For a range toy or limited matches, XC all day. XL had a nice trigger and all the Staccato bells and whistles, it's basically a big ass P. Usable in more completion, probably too big to carry but you could.
