Dec 6, 2009 · I pulled my UIM and LIM last week and found that the LIM gasket was in really bad shape. I also found that there was a small divet where the metal of the LIM had worn away:icon_conf. Replacing with the same black plastic seems to yield the same results, more bad gaskets. GM changed the design and came out with an aluminum gasket for the LIM's and those seem to be well made and don't deform and fail like the plastic ones do.

Took it in for the rear brake pads, and while the mechanic was driving it to check the brakes, the coolant passage through the intake manifold failed. He barely got it back to the shop before the plugs finally fouled out from the coolant that got sucked into the engine. Im gonna have to do my LIM gasket on my 97 grand prix with the 3100 soon. However,after checking around at the local parts stores,autozone and advance sell the fel pro kits.
