It has slightly more felt recoil than the 30 due to lighter slide and thinner grip. I never noticed musch difference with the 36 slide on my 30 (same as 30s). They had a 30S and a 30SF in stock so I spent some time deciding which to get. I know I'm going to be tempted to carry this gun so I went with the 30S for the thinner slide. Another customer was carrying a 30SF on him and he said he loved the gun and that he sold a Glock 27 because he didn't like the snappy recoil haha. That really swayed me.

On my Gen4, I've had two mag catches and springs replaced due to excessive wear of the catch and the notches in the mags. Mags would fall out upon firing the gun. With the SF, aside from the obvious selection of magazines you can use (which applies to both guns as the 30S uses the SF frame), the ability to convert to different calibers is a huge plus. It is a little thicker in the grip, but not by much.
