Every MMO I've played over the last 15 years has had some sort of weekly maintenance where the servers go offline. It's normal. Additional maintenance is expected around large content releases, due to bugs & problems with that release. Patches and bug fixes are separate from that, but do tend to occur during regular maintenance times.

I have said this before, and Ill say it again. This is the only MMO that I have ever played that must keep servers down for regular maintenance for over two hours on a regular basis. I didn't buy a game to sit in queue, eventually if I'm lucky to get i to the game for 3 minutes then lose connection and sit in queue for a lengthly time again. My connection is fine. And for this being a second attempt for elder scrolls online the issues need to be fixed quickly.

If I'm not mistaken the ps4 NA server was taken down for the same problem(s). It was down for around an hour and a half. Take a nap, read a book, or cry into your pillow as you see fit.
